HOUSTON TEXANS.......................................DALLAS COWBOYS
THE SKINNY
The Dallas-Houston football rivalry has never really been established - the Cowboys and Oilers having played each other just eight times after the NFL-AFL merger in 1970. The Cowboys ended up with a 5-3 series advantage. They also were the ones with all the success, winning five Super Bowls while the Oilers never reached the championship game before moving to Tennessee in 1997. The Texans will be looking to pick up where they left off in 2002, while the Cowboys are looking to even the series in just the second meeting between the two in-state rivals. This obviously will be the first time the Cowboys play the Texans at Texas Stadium.
MEMORY LANE
The Cowboys' only meeting with the Houston Texans is one they've been trying to put behind them for the past four years, yet one they will never quite live down. The Cowboys were the Texans' opponents in the franchise's inaugural game in 2002, helping them to open up their season and brand-spanking new Reliant Stadium in a Sunday night game. They were far too gracious visitors, putting up a mere 10 points against the upstart Texans in a 19-10 loss. As Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said after the game, "I am disappointed for Cowboys fans everywhere."
Cowboys are kings of Texas with 34-6 win
