Final Stretch of MLK Parkway Scheduled to Open Today

Speed limit may change on new MLK Parkway

A lot of drivers are upset over the speed limit on Wilmington's newest highway. We've heard your complaints and so has the Department of Transportation. Changes could be coming soon to the Martin Luther King Parkway. The 45-mph speed limit on the parkway may be changing soon. Many drivers think it's painfully slow, so the DOT has spent the last month studying the issue. It's an open stretch of road with very few stop lights, so drivers are puzzled as to why they have to drive so slowly. Engineers say when they designed the road they were trying to minimize the impact on surrounding wetlands, businesses and neighborhoods. That meant adding some twists and turns along the parkway, and a 45-mph speed limit to accommodate those curves. There's been public outcry over that speed limit though. The DOT thinks it may be safe to increase it, but they wanted to study the road before making anything official. Engineers say the speed limit could change later this week or next week, but it will probably only be a 5-mph increase if it does change.

Market Street traffic down 15 percent since MLK Parkway opening

It's a parkway that Wilmington drivers waited decades to see. Just one month after the Martin Luther King Parkway opened, drivers around here are already seeing noticeable benefits. The Department of Transportation has just released some very preliminary data. Now that MLK is open, they've seen a significant decrease in the volume of traffic on other major roads like Market Street. In October 2005, before the parkway opened, more than 40,000 cars a day were traveling Market Street between Eastwood Road and downtown. Those numbers have already dropped by about 15 percent, down to 34,000 cars a day. As more people incorporate the parkway into their commute, traffic on Market Street may decrease even further. That could very easily translate into fewer accidents on Market Street and less congestion for drivers. The DOT doesn't have any numbers yet on how many cars are traveling the parkway. Conservatively speaking, thousands of drivers have already started using it and many are raving about how much time their saving by using the Martin Luther King Parkway. The DOT says it may be 6 months or more before they have a really good grasp on the traffic impact of the parkway. But so far, so good.

Can I Bust? In my opinion

Football players need to know there role. I'm just saying if your going to play quarterback you need to play it correct.

In my opinion today's black players shouldn't play Quarterback. I don't think there ready yet. Michael Vick, Donovan McNabb,and Daunte Culpepper are great quarterbacks, but they run to damn much for me. I just think white quarterbacks play the position well. It really pisses me off when the QB is the leading rusher. Don't get my wrong. I just like the stand in the pocket and throw type QB's. I mean that's what a quarterback is suppose to do, throw a pass or hand it off to a running back. Simple as that.

Atlanta, Philadelphia and Minnesota have great offenses but these QB's hurt there team chances of being effective. Because these teams rely on there QB too much. By seasons end it all catches up to them. That's why teams with running QB's never will win the SUPER BOWL. Yeah a few have been there, but the fall short of winning it all. Doug Williams of the Washington Redskins won it in 1988 but he was a passing black QB.

Maybe teams should research those Cowboys when they won 3 Super Bowls in 4 years.(QB- White: RB- Black: WR- Black TE- White.)

Centers - White (A special military type. Steroid using white)
Tackles - White
Guards - White

Defense
Linebackers - Black.(except the MLB - White)
Defensive Ends - Black
Defensive Tackles - Black
Defensive Backs - Black
Nose Tackles - White

Special Teams
Kickers - White
Punters - White
Kick Off Return - Black
Punt Return - White

Other sports might want my opinion as well.

Boxing: Now you know who should be boxing. Forget about the "great white hope" those days are long gone. Leave boxing to the Blacks and Mexicans. Throw in a few Germans just because.

Baseball: Give it to the whites, sprinkled with blacks.

Hockey: Whites and Canadians.

Track & Field: Split it up. Blacks- running events. White- Field events.

Golf: Keep it White. What business do we have playing golf. Hit a ball then follow it. We know damn well it's too fuckin' hot out there in that open field. And please stop wearing those straw hats. Athletes like Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar support the golf game.

yesterday me and my woman went to the Riverfest. My women took her god daughter who is Mexican. This white lady looked at my woman, looked at me and the baby. She replied "that's interesting". We both looked at the women. For a minute not realizing what just took place. As we walked a little ways up something popped in my head. No tha fuck this cracka didn't.

I told my woman. That white lady was thinking. How in the fuck did those two black ass Negroes, have a baby that damn light,(Mexican). We both broke out in laughter.

Then she said. They probably saying, that negro has to know that baby ain't his. She cheated on him.

That's why people need to mind there fucking business. It's possible I could have a white looking baby. My daddy is a shade away from being white, he even have freckles. My grand parents on my daddy side look white, mixed with Indian. And everybody knows Blackfoot has some Indian in him.
